We had a strong showing at the Fort Ward parkrun this weekend as 19 of the 27 finishers were Silver Striders. Cathal Ridge was the first male Silver Strider, and second overall, with a time of 21:36. The first female Silver Strider was Quynh-Anh Nguyen with a time of 29:57.

As for me, Bailey and I took part in the Auburn Petpalooza Dog Trot at Auburn’s Game Farm Park. There were 361 runners and walkers out with their dogs, 106 were Silver Striders. I expected the course to be a lot more congested than it was. Judging by the times, though, most were walking with their dogs. It was a nice course, starting off going through a neighborhood before joining the White River Trail for an out and back along the river. I managed to take first for the 55+ age group, 2^nd for those 50 and over, and 6^th overall for the 3k. I didn’t want overwork Bailey’s little legs with a longer run. He really enjoyed it, though.
