What a crazy year this has been with the weather. Saturday it was being such a tease with us. “Ok, I’m going to start you off with a light sprinkle. Ok, enough of that, time for a break. No, let’s go with a bit more sprinkle. Hey, I think I’ll throw a little sun at ya. Nah, that’s no fun. Let’s go with a heavy drizzle for awhile. Aaand, now let’s go back to sunshine.” And so it went for the rest of the day. It didn’t slow any one down, though. 446 runners braved the bi-polar weather and managed some pretty good times as well. Chris Fisher was the first Silver Strider to cross the line with a time of 20:16. Jennifer Rozler was the first female Silver Strider with a time of 25:11. I opted not to run this race and give my ankle a rest. I was there for morale support, though. 82 of the 446 runners were Silver Striders.

Afterwards a few of us gathered at Nikki’s Restaurant and Lounge for the post-race Camaraderie Brunch.
