3/28/26 – Renton
Silver Strider Chris Fisher finished first overall at the ParkRun # 356. The race was named after Jahna Prine who passed away a few months ago following a fall in her home. At the time of her passing Jahna, age 82, was training to do the Honolulu Marathon, which would have been her 64th marathon.

The race overall winner was Chris Fisher, age 57. Chris led the Jahna Prine Celebration 5k from the start, dropping all runners during the first 400 meters.

The course was altered due to construction and a circuit design was implemented and was well received. Officials were able to see the runners pass on three occasions during the race. I checked with several runners and they said that the course was a touch long at 3.15 or 3.16 miles.

All finishers received prizes. First place in each age group received a Jahna Prine 5k trophy. Second and third received ribbons. The awards were provided by the Silver Strider Magazine.
When the last runner finished, a drawing was held for two gift certificates for $50 each. The certificates were to Fleet Feet Sports, courtesy of Barbara Prine and Jerry Dietrich.

The first runners to finish the 2026 Grand Prix Series did so at this race by having finished eight series races. The first Silver Strider to finish the 2026 Series was Steve Husko followed by Judy Fisher, Ray Arrington and Patty Husko. Congratulations on being the first finishers of the 2026 series.
