Bulletin 5/13/25The Washington all-time 5k record in the Women’s age group 85-89  was broken by Esther Conway at the Rhody Run. The record was previously held by Solvang Beck at 45:50. What made her new record amazing was the fact that her 44:47 not only shattered the record by over a minute, but that she did it on one of the toughest 5k courses.

The 2025 Rhody Run IOk

The 2025 Ambassador series is really cooking. The Rhody Run was the 12th race in the series and we already have eight series finishers. To be a series finisher you need to complete a minimum of 8 races on the 32 race schedule. Leading the way by completing all 12 races is Judy Fisher, our returning series champion in the women’s 80-84 age group. Steve and Patty Husko are right on Judy’s heels finishing 11 of the 12 races so far.

Silver Strider 2024 State 10k Champion, Ian Frazer returned to finish first Silver Strider again this year, and win the Rhody Gold Medal in the Men’s 50-54 age group. Ian tamed the hilly course in a time of 37:39.

First Woman Silver Strider was Holly Mac Ilvaine. Holly claimed gold in the Women’s 50-54 age group. Holly’s time was 42:04.

Seventy year old Kent Sizer posted a notable 46:58. A course record for Men 70-74.
