May 31, 2025 – Renton
This was the 13th race in the Series. To be a series finisher, participants must complete a minimum of 8 races of the 23 scheduled events.

The weather was nice and the turnout was above average.

This was my first attempt at a 5k in 6 months and I was a little apprehensive. I had been feeling better since my recent surgery, but my training walks had been only 1.5 miles. I walked a nice easy pace and finished 5k with no problems. Several runners waited for me to finish and I appreciated their recognition.

Once again Chris Fisher led the way for Silver Striders with a time of 21 minutes flat. Cheryl Stitt led the women in 26:02, good for 3rd female overall.

On Saturday, June 28th is the Bear Run in Maple Valley. This has been a favorite for many years and the Silver Strider turnout is expected to be strong.

Silver Strider magazine is planning a new and exciting race to be held later this year. Watch for the announcement on July 1st.
