April 12, 2025 – Renton
Warm weather and sunshine has finally blessed the 2025 Ambassador Series. This was the 9th race in the Series and competition was beginning to take shape. To be a series finisher, participants must complete a minimum of 8 races of the 23 scheduled events. Five runners have completed 8 or 9 races and are currently finishers. See “Standings” for details.
Some runners are making early bids for Super Athlete status. We have our first qualifier in Kent Sizer. He is currently qualified at 3k, 5k, 10k and Half. Not only is Kent in the TOP IO at each distance, but he is also ranked #1 at all four. If the year ended now he would receive a gold ring.

Currently the super athlete contenders are, Vanessa Pearson, Judy Fisher, Jahna Prine and Keith Lerew.
The turnout at Renton was good and we may see some TOP IO times emerge in the May 5th standings. The first Silver Strider to finish was Sean Celli in 21:15. The first female Silver strider was Emily Gong in 26:47.
The next series race is the Des Moines 5k on the 26th of this month.
Don’t forget to enter the 2nd Ambassador 3k on May 10th in Gig Harbor. Lots of spots are open in the TOP IO at this distance. Trophies to Age Group winners and ribbons to 2nd and 3rd. Free entry to the Iron Horse Half Marathon, the Sundae Runday 5k, the Run Scared 5 or 10k, and a $50 gift certificate to Fleet Feet Sports will be will be given in the drawing. The drawing odds are good in a small field.
