2/24/24 – Renton The early morning was a bit nippy, but not cold enough to discourage runners competing in the Grand Prix Series. Our photographer, Bruce Fisher, was home sick and Steve Husko took over the photo duties. Steve Husko continued his quest to be 1st to reach 80 points, by racking up 10 more for winning the Men 70-74 age group. That brought his total to 40 points in 4 races. Judy Fisher kept pace, trying to be the first female to reach 80 points also with 40 points in 4 races. John Phillips, age 80, posted another fast time of 26:15, which he referred to as a training pace. Brent White continued his comeback at age 60, topping his recent best of 29:00 with a 26:48. The first Male Silver Strider to finish was Matt Nakaya (M50-54) in 20:10 . Matt finished 3rd overall, only 46 seconds behind the overall winner. Battling health issues, Bob Davies managed his 99th Grand Prix Series race. Bob needs only one more to join the Century Club. Ten Silver Striders met at the Ale House for breakfast after the race. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
