The Edmonds 4th of July 5k

By Jerry Dietrich

July 4, 2026 – Edmonds
Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or just looking for a fun, healthy way to start your Independence Day, this event is for you! After the race runners enjoyed the Edmonds 4th of July Parade to keep the celebration going. All proceeds benefited the Chamber’s programming and helped in bringing great events to Edmonds.

The weather was great! It was 58 degrees and overcast when the race started, with a slight 2 mph breeze. 5K was timed and prizes are given for the top three runners in each gender and first place finisher in each age category. Winners were recognized and prizes were given out shortly after the end of the race.

The 5K race route wound through the scenic streets of Edmonds and the Town of Woodway, culminating in a thrilling finish right on the Edmonds 4th of July parade route. Crowds were waiting to cheer the finishers on!

The first Silver Strider to finish was 59 year old Gary Thompson in 20:52. The first female Silver Strider was 51 year old Linda Spooner in 21:18.

The top age graded perfomances were as follows:
