Seward Park – 10/26/25
Brr! Another cold and wet one. Probably the scariest thing about this year’s Run Scared! was the weather. Run For Good Racing has changed the course for their Seward Park races so now we don’t have to Run Scared! of the hill, formerly at the half mile point of previous year’s races. I decided to wait in my car for the start rather than brave the elements for the pre-race festivities. I also didn’t stick around long afterward either. I was anxious to get home to a warm shower and dry clothes.
Chris Fisher was the first Silver Strider for the 5k, finishing in a time of 21:05.

Jerry’s notes: Chris Fisher’s win in the Men’s 55-59 cinched the Series title for 2025. The times were a little slow as runners slogged through puddles with wet shoes, but on a positive note, the big hill was no longer part of the course.
I should mention the Women over 80. They are tough. Congratulations to Judy Fisher, Louise Mihay, Diane Johnson, Edythe Hulet and Gretchen Ramsdell. Your willingness to travel a long distance and compete in the rain inspired us all.
A course measurement provided proof that the 5k course was accurate and the course was given Silver Strider certification. However, because of the rain soaked conditions, TOP IO times were rare.
With only 4 races left on the schedule, five age group winners are still undecided. Going down to the wire are M70-74, M80-84, W60-64, W65-69 and W70-74.
