The Silver Strider Grand Prix Series

Scott Ling became the latest Silver Strider to score an overall win as he sped to victory breaking 20 minutes on the flat Renton course. Scott’s time was 19:33. Scott, currently ranked #6 in the TOP IO, lowered his best time of the year from 20:21.

Sara Song was the first female Silver Strider to finish, repeating her acomplishment at “Betty’s Memorial 5k” last year. Her time was 27:36. Sara was the 4h woman overall. 

Robert Shirley, age 83, number 4 on the all-time list, continued his comeback with a stellar time of 27:26 which should move him into the 3rd spot on the current TOP IO.

This was the seventh race in the 2024 Silver Strider Grand Prix Series. The competition is shaping up in each age division.

As for the Achievement Awards, Judy Fisher looks like a winner in the contest for “First female runner to reach 80 points”.  Judy has 7 ten’s in 7 races. She can wrap it up at Des Moines on May 4th.

On the men’s side, Steve Husko and Jerry Dietrich are tied with 6 ten’s.
