The 2023 Super Athlete Awards

Exciting changes are taking place in the Super Athlete Program. Some you will learn about in this article and some will be surprise announcements at the Super Athlete Party on February 17th at the Olde Spaghetti Factory in Tacoma.

Past and present owners of the “Super Athlete Ring” will be in attendance as we present the rings for 2023.

Congratulations to Karl Johnson who has volunteered to be the Chairman of the Super Athlete program. Karl will tabulating and updating qualifiers progress during 2024.

Here are the other changes.
All of the rings in the past have looked alike except for the year appearing. On the left below, you can see how the rings looked. Silver rings with white lettering on a black background. These rings were intended to be displayed like trophies. Women’s rings were all size 7 and men’s were all size 9.

The rings for 2023 are offered in sizes for the first time so that the ring holder could actually wear the ring on occasion if desired. Also, I decided that from now on, I would change the appearance of the ring by changing the background color each year. In the past the background color has been black. For 2023 it is red. In 2024 it will be blue. Also, this year we offered a walnut base as an optional enhancement.

I tried one of the rings from the past on my hand and felt it looked feminine. I decided to offer a men’s version this year. It is a square version of the same ring, just a bit more masculine when seen on a finger.
