Captain Jack’s race on September 25th is 5k*, 8k* and 12k, not 5&10k as shown on the calendar.

Several Silver Striders weren’t wearing their shirts or hats at the Des Moines race. They said “We didn’t know the Ambassador program was continuing in 2026”.
I don’t know how to get runners to check the Bulletins. Bulletins should be checked at least once per week. I suggest Thursday. My final concession is – “Qualifying for an Ambassadorship will commence on March 7th at the Resolution Run”. Shirts are on sale at half price.

Reminder – If you want to become a Silver Strider Ambassador for 2026, don’t forget to wear your Silver Strider shirt, singlet, hat or visor at the Des Moines 5k
See Jerry to pick up your shirt, singlet, hat or visor and pay later.
Note: If you are not doing the race that day, You can still get Silver Strider Apparel at the Camaraderie Brunch. Join us. We want to see you whether you ran or not.

The new year is upon us. 2026 is planned to be our biggest year yet. There are more series series races that should yield more finishers than ever before. The Super Athlete program is growing in popularity. I hope to see an increase in our Ambassador numbers. Iset a goal of 25 Ambassadors for 2026.
We need a new Chairman for the 5k TOP IO. Ed Heckard is stepping down after serving for 10 years. Ed will start 2026 as usual and the first TOP IO will be published on March 1st. The new chairman will scan results each Monday for any new TOP IO 5k times. Only certified races, if any, need to be scanned. Once on the first of each month the Chairman will send changes, if any, to Bruce Fisher.
