The 2022 Rhody Run

xxxx By Jerry Dietrich

Port Townsend – 2022

I’m happy to report that the Jefferson Healthcare Rhody Run will return in 2022. It is known as, “The run that cares for the runners”. It has been added to the Silver Strider Grand Prix Mini Series.

There will be some changes implemented in the new version of the Rhody Run and some traditions will be continued as in the past.

The most fundamental changes are the distances offered.

The distance of the more challenging race has been changed from 12k to 10k. The 10k course has been certified and times will be eligible for listing in the TOP IO. The 10k will also be the Silver Strider 10k Championship race for 2022.

The distance of the Half Rhody will be changed from 6k to 5k. This course is also certified and the times will count in the TOP IO standings.

New race location: Jefferson County Fairgrounds – 4907 Landes St, Port Townsend, WA 98368. To view course maps click on the Rhody Run ad on the upper right side of this page.

The Jefferson Healthcare Rhody Run is organized and produced by the Port Townsend Marathon Association, a charitable non-profit organization.

“The goal is to produce a run where all runners, champion and beginner alike, can feel as if it’s their race. Physical exercise is an excellent way to support mental well-being.” said Jen Little, Race Director. “The return of the Rhody Run, not only celebrates our community, but emphasizes some normalcy we see returning to our lives.
